Greenwashed Products?

Greenwashed Products are toxic products that have had their labels changed to present the product as a green alternative or the product is described using a whole lot of green words making you believe that what you are buying is good for the environment  when it is not.

This is the blatent advertising we are beginning to see that is being used all over the place to entice the ever growing Green Consumer market into buying these toxic products.

These products are not green, they are the same toxic products they used to be with a Green Label or a new "Green" description.

On this page you will begin to see just a few of the culprits and as we come across them you can be sure they will go on this Black List or rather Greenwashed List to keep you in the know.

If you come across them yourself, please let us know and we will post them on this site.  If we work together and show these manufacturer's and retailers that we are not going to support toxic industries any longer, then maybe we can look towards a brighter future and maybe these manufacturer's and retailers will wise up and stop using our planet as a toxic waste dump to make a buck.

THIS PRODUCT IS A "GREEN HOAX"
WHY?
It leeches a toxic copper chemical
into the water.

If you read the product description you can tell how easy it is for Green Washers to get away with promoting their product as "environmentally friendly" when it really is no such thing.

MANUFACTURER'S GREENWASHED DESCRIPTION......
Hydrocoat available from Pettit Paints is a water-based, ablative antifouling. Hydrocoat's innovative technology replaces the harsh solvents found in most bottom paints with water.  Result:  easier application and clean up, no heavy solvent smell.

The low-odor formula is so environmentally friendly, it exceeds even the most stringent air pollution regulations. Hydrocoat withstands frequent trailering, beaching, and launching. Its unique formula allows unlimited dry time to launch, so you can paint in the fall or winter.

Information has come to us Straight from the Manufacturer that this product leeches copper into the water as it wears down, dumping more toxic poisons into our water supply. Sure, the "low odor formula exceeds stringent air pollution regulations" but I guess the water pollution problem is no big deal to them.
