The solution for an efficient and effective power station is not going to come from any one source. There are many clean power technologies available to us such as windmills and turbines, solar panels, parabolic mirror systems, and alternative fuel generators.

Each of these technologies depends a single environmental factor such as wind, sun or resources to make fuel. If a power station is built using only one type of technology, the system stands to fail if the corresponding environmental factor becomes unavailable or if the source itself becomes inoperational and is too expensive to replace.

Example
A 3 megawatt windmill costs about one million dollars. If the wind is not blowing, the power is not being produced. If the windmill should become disabled, the cost of repair or replacement would be astronomical.
